A Celestial Church of Christ evangelist, Abidemi Odukoya, and his wife, Adenike, have died following an alleged domestic fight at their residence in the Akinode/Ibogun community of Ogun State.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of August 25 after a disagreement between the couple allegedly escalated into a physical confrontation.
A community leader, Adejimi Olawumi, said residents raised an alarm after hearing cries for help and found Adenike injured and unconscious inside the house.
Odukoya was reportedly not found at the residence after the incident. He was later said to have been hit by a vehicle in the Ifo area and taken to hospital by the police, where he was identified.
The couple’s family also said they had experienced previous disagreements and had sought help to resolve their marital disputes.
Adenike was reportedly buried on the day of the incident, while Odukoya was buried on September 2.
The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the incident, saying the circumstances surrounding the deaths are under investigation.
