Liverpool manager, Andoni Iraola, says he is satisfied with the club’s summer transfer business and will now focus on developing the squad ahead of a busy Premier League campaign.
Liverpool made several key additions during the transfer window, including the £123m signing of Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.
The club also signed Victor Munoz from Osasuna for £34.5m, while defender Ronald Araujo joined on loan from Barcelona. Centre-back Jeremy Jacquet was also brought in for £60m in a deal agreed earlier in the year.
Iraola said the club considered other options but decided the completed signings were the right additions to strengthen the squad.
He also backed the club’s decision not to replace midfielder Curtis Jones, who joined Inter Milan for £30m, saying Liverpool have enough options in midfield.
Iraola further expressed his delight at retaining Cody Gakpo after Manchester City reportedly made an £80m bid for the Netherlands international.
Gakpo has started the season strongly, scoring once and providing an assist in Liverpool’s opening two league matches.
With Barcola now available, Iraola will hope the strengthened squad can help Liverpool turn their early draws into victories.
