Tinubu: North Biggest Beneficiary of My Reforms

President Bola Tinubu has said Northern Nigeria is the biggest beneficiary of his administration’s economic reforms, particularly the removal of fuel subsidy.

Represented by APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, Tinubu said the reforms had improved Nigeria’s economic outlook through increased revenue, stronger foreign reserves, improved trade and economic growth.

He said the North would benefit significantly from infrastructure and trade projects linking the region with neighbouring countries.

However, the Arewa Consultative Forum and Middle Belt Forum rejected the claim, citing persistent poverty, insecurity and poor infrastructure in the region.

The Northern Christian Association disagreed, saying the North had benefited from the administration through major road projects and federal institutions.

The debate comes as the African Democratic Congress supports the restoration of fuel subsidy, while the APC maintains that reversing the policy could undermine government revenue and development projects.
