A two-storey residential building has collapsed in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, with no casualty recorded.
The building, located at Inyaba-Umudim, Nnewi, reportedly collapsed on Sunday.
The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Chijioke Ojukwu, confirmed the incident during an inspection of the scene.
Ojukwu said the building was constructed without the required approval and described the incident as unfortunate.
He said occupants of a nearby three-storey building had been ordered to vacate the structure to allow for an integrity test.
The commissioner added that buildings in the area would undergo mandatory integrity tests, while structures found to be unsafe would be demolished.
