Gunmen Kill Popular Comedian, One Other in Anambra

Unidentified gunmen have killed a popular comedian and media personality, Isaac Nwosu, popularly known as ‘Aiza Nwosu’, and another man in separate attacks in Awka, Anambra State.

The victims were reportedly shot at S.M. Okeke Street, Amaikwo, and Capital City Road, Amaenyi, on Sunday night.

According to the Anambra State Police Command, three unidentified persons travelling in a silver-coloured Toyota Corolla carried out the attacks.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the bodies of the victims were recovered and taken to a hospital, where they were confirmed dead.

The comedian was identified as Isaac Nwosu, while the second victim remained unidentified.

Police recovered ₦7,550, a Moniepoint ATM card and a pair of slippers from the scenes.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Ama, condemned the killings and ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for investigation.

The command has intensified patrols, surveillance and intelligence gathering in Awka and urged residents with useful information on the attackers or their vehicle to assist the police.
