Eight farmers have been killed and five others injured after suspected bandits attacked Gandi community in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The attack occurred around 3pm on Sunday, with the assailants reportedly opening fire on farmers in the community.
A local source said the attack was suspected to be a reprisal following recent security operations in the area, during which several bandits were reportedly killed.
The source said the attackers specifically targeted farmers, leaving eight dead and five others with gunshot injuries.

The spokesman for the Sokoto State Police Command, DSP Ahmed Rufai, confirmed that the command was aware of the incident but said details were still being gathered.
