The Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has adjourned the murder trial of former Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee of the Park Management System (PMS), Mukaila Lamidi, popularly known as Auxiliary, to July 15, 2026.
Justice Oyeyemi Ajayi fixed the new date after the prosecution failed to file the required trial documents, preventing the case from proceeding as scheduled.
The court adjourned the matter for the adoption of final written addresses.
Lamidi is standing trial on a one-count charge of murder brought against him by the Oyo State Government.
The prosecution alleged that he caused the death of one Wonuola Ayinde after allegedly knocking her down with his vehicle on September 23, 2023, at about 4:30 p.m. in the Government Reservation Area (GRA), Agodi, Ibadan.
According to the prosecution, the offence contravenes Section 325 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000, which prescribes punishment for murder.
Lamidi has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The former transport union leader has been appearing before the court since his arraignment. He was initially arrested in May 2023 following a raid on his residence, during which security operatives reportedly recovered firearms and charms.
He was subsequently charged in connection with the death of Ayinde, while the trial continues before the Oyo State High Court.
