Ex-Science Minister Uche Nnaji Reportedly Arrested at Enugu Airport

Former Minister of Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, was reportedly arrested on Wednesday at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, while preparing to board a chartered flight to Abuja.

According to reports, Nnaji was taken into custody by security operatives at the airport and is expected to be handed over to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for interrogation.

The anti-corruption agency had reportedly been investigating the former minister following allegations that he forged his academic certificates.

The investigation is said to have commenced after Nnaji resigned from office last year amid the controversy surrounding the authenticity of his academic credentials.

As of the time of filing this report, the ICPC has not issued an official statement confirming the arrest or providing details of the allegations against the former minister.

Similarly, Nnaji has yet to publicly respond to the reports or the allegations.
