MRS filling stations supplied by the Dangote Refinery have reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, in Abuja.

The new pump price has been adjusted to ₦1,241 per litre, down from ₦1,317 per litre, representing a reduction of ₦76 per litre, or approximately 5.8 percent.

The price cut follows the recent decision by the Dangote Refinery to lower its ex-depot (gantry) price of petrol by ₦75 per litre after a decline in global crude oil prices.

Despite the reduction, several other filling stations in the Federal Capital Territory, including those operated by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), Ranoil, AA Rano and Empire Energy, had yet to adjust their pump prices as of Friday.

The latest price review by MRS is expected to increase competition in the downstream petroleum sector and could encourage other marketers to review their pricing in the coming days.
