Prominent Fuji musician Wasiu Alabi, popularly known as Pasuma, has issued a stern warning regarding the unapproved exploitation of his music, likeness, and visual content.
According to a legal notice released by his legal team on June 5, 2026, the artist expressed deep concern over persistent intellectual property theft by various corporations and individuals. The document specifically calls out content creators, production companies, and digital music distributors who have been utilizing his songs, images, and videos without securing the proper licensing.
Pasuma emphasized that these actions directly violate Nigerian copyright regulations and amount to unlawful commercial exploitation of his artistry.
Excerpts from the Official Legal Notice
The formal statement highlights the gravity of these infringements:
The notice states that several entities have been unlawfully exploiting the artist’s intellectual property—including his image, likeness, audio recordings, and videos—acts that are strictly illegal under the federal copyright laws of Nigeria.
It further warns that uploading, hosting, or distributing his creative works across digital service providers, streaming apps, video platforms, blogs, or gaming sites without an explicit, written agreement constitutes a direct breach of the Nigerian Copyright Act 2022.
