Excitement is already building in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, as guests and cultural enthusiasts begin arriving for the 2026 Ojude Oba Festival, one of Nigeria’s most celebrated cultural gatherings.

The ancient town came alive with colour and elegance as early attendees stepped out in beautifully coordinated traditional outfits, showcasing the richness of Yoruba culture and the unique heritage of the Ijebu people. Men were seen in flowing agbadas made from richly embroidered fabrics, while women dazzled in stylish geles, lace attires, and sparkling beads that added glamour to the atmosphere.

The annual festival, held on the third day after Eid-el-Kabir, is widely regarded as a major cultural event that attracts thousands of visitors from across Nigeria and beyond. The celebration serves as a moment for age groups, families, social clubs, and prominent individuals to pay homage to the Awujale of Ijebuland while also promoting unity, tradition, and cultural pride.

As preparations continue, the streets of Ijebu-Ode are already witnessing increased activity, with music, fashion, and excitement setting the tone for what promises to be another memorable edition of the festival. Politicians, entertainers, business leaders, and members of the Nigerian diaspora are also expected to join the celebration, further highlighting the growing international recognition of Ojude Oba as a symbol of cultural excellence and identity.
