Accident claims three lives on Ibadan-Lagos expressway.

No fewer than three adult males have been confirmed dead following a road accident on Sunday along the Ibadan-Lagos Expressway.

The crash, which occurred around 1:04 p.m. at the Oniworo area, involved a blue Lexus Jeep with registration number GGE 18 JV and an unregistered black Boxer motorcycle.

A total of eight persons were involved in the accident, all male adults. One person sustained injuries, three were confirmed dead, while four others escaped unhurt.

Preliminary findings indicate that the crash was caused by excessive speed, which led to a tyre burst.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and evacuated the injured victim to a nearby hospital for treatment. The bodies of the deceased were also recovered and deposited at a morgue.

Authorities have extended condolences to the families of the victims and urged motorists to observe speed limits and ensure their vehicles, particularly tyres, are in good condition to prevent similar tragedies.
