Popular Nigerian comedian and social media influencer Broda Shaggi has reportedly been hospitalised after he was allegedly shot while filming a comedy skit in Sango-Ota, Ogun State.
The entertainer, whose real name is Samuel Perry, was said to have sustained a gunshot injury on Sunday afternoon while shooting content under the Sango-Ota bridge.
Sources said the incident occurred during a skit recording session with members of his production crew at the location.
A police source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to comment on the matter, disclosed that the comedian was immediately rushed to a hospital after the incident.
According to the source, the injured entertainer was first taken to Blooming Care Hospital, where medical personnel administered first aid.
He was later referred to Duchess Hospital in the Government Residential Area of Ikeja, Lagos State, where he is currently receiving treatment.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the incident had not been formally reported to the command.
“The incident was alleged to have occurred in Ogun State, but it was not reported,” he said.
Meanwhile, the development has sparked concern among fans and followers of the comedian as authorities continue efforts to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged shooting.
