LET THERE BE PEACE IN EVERY COMMUNITY, SAYS ALAAFIN

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, has called for peace in every community as he promised to ensure peace and harmony among Oyo and Afijio communities.

This promise came in reaction to appeals by some well-meaning Oyo indigenes, calling on the royal father to intervene in the lingering land disputes between the two communities.

Alaafin  in a  statement by his Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Durojaiye, stressed that with the diverse cultures, beliefs, and values coexisting, there is a need for effective peace-building initiatives, which are crucial to maintain social cohesion and prevent conflicts.

Similarly, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has warned compound heads, popularly known as Mogajis and village heads, also referred to as Baales, against land grabbing and insubordination to elders within their families.
