The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has charged Nigerian Army personnel to take full ownership of their responsibilities, uphold professionalism and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Nigerian Army.
In a statement by the director Army public relations, Major General, Onyema Nwachukwu, the COAS stated this during his maiden operational visit to Headquarters 1 Division Nigerian Army in Kaduna on Wednesday as part of his ongoing tour of formations and units across the Nigerian Army.
He reiterated his commitment to empathetic leadership and assured Nigerian Army personnel that their welfare remains a top priority.
Addressing officers and soldiers during the visit, Oluyede reaffirmed his dedication to fostering a professional, well-equipped, and motivated force, while also highlighting his plans to address accommodation challenges, ensuring that every soldier has access to proper housing.
The COAS also underscored the importance of rigorous training to maintain a combat-ready and result-oriented army.
