MANUFACTURERS RECORD 90.6% RISE IN COST OF SALES

Nigeria’s manufacturers are counting their losses to the drastic macroeconomic changes being executed by the Federal Government. A key element of the difficulties has shown up in cost of sales with leading manufacturers reporting 90.6 per cent surge in their just released 2024 financial results. Analysts attribute the increase to the mounting inflationary pressure, foreign exchange volatility, and escalating production costs in the sector.

LAGOS CONFIRMS 10 DIPHTHERIA CASES, VACCINATES 36,310

The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has confirmed that the state recorded 10 cases of diphtheria between January 1 and March 27, 2025. In response to the outbreak, the state has vaccinated 36,310 individuals, he said. MYANMAR JUNTA DECLARES ONE WEEK OF NATIONAL MOURNING AFTER QUAKE

Myanmar’s ruling junta has declared a week of national mourning on Monday for victims of the country’s devastating earthquake, which has killed more than 1,700 people. The official mourning period runs until April 6, the junta said in a statement, with national flags to fly at half-mast. It will be recalled that apowerful7.7-magnitude earthquake hit central Myanmar and neighbouring Thailand last Friday. The quake destroyed several buildings, bridges, roads and many lives were lost.
