Ronald Koeman Announces Death of Wife

Former Barcelona and Netherlands coach Ronald Koeman has announced the death of his wife, Bartina Koeman.

Koeman shared the news in an emotional tribute on Instagram on Wednesday, describing Bartina as his “beautiful wife” and the family’s “dearest mother and grandmother.”

FC Barcelona expressed condolences to Koeman and his family, while the Netherlands national team also offered its support to him, their children, grandchildren and other relatives.

Koeman, 63, is a prominent figure in Dutch football. He had a distinguished playing career before moving into management, where he coached Barcelona from 2020 to 2021 and has also managed the Netherlands, Everton, Southampton, Ajax and other clubs.

Koeman and Bartina had been married for decades and have three children together.

The family has asked for privacy as they mourn her death.
