The Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, has commended the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for using technology to improve its operations and combat fraudulent activities.
Alausa gave the commendation when the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
The minister praised the scheme’s adoption of digital technology in the registration and deployment of corps members, saying it had made the process more efficient and secure.
Nafiu said the NYSC had also strengthened the security features of corps members’ call-up and posting letters following attempts by fraudsters to clone the documents and deceive prospective employers.
He said the enhanced security measures would make the documents more difficult to manipulate while allowing employers to verify their authenticity.
The NYSC Director-General also disclosed that a joint committee involving the NYSC and the Federal Ministry of Education had been established to strengthen collaboration and ensure that only qualified Nigerian graduates participate in the scheme.
