The Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Peter Obi, and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, have called for unity among Nigerians and political leaders ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Obi made the call on Monday at the commissioning of Makinde’s 2027 presidential campaign office in Abuja.

He said Nigerians should support whoever emerges victorious in a free, fair and credible election, stressing that the country needs collective efforts to tackle poverty, hunger and insecurity.

Obi said political differences should give way to a common goal of improving the living conditions of Nigerians.

He also described Makinde as qualified to contest the presidency and urged Nigerians to focus on building a better country rather than engaging in political quarrels.

Makinde is contesting the 2027 presidential election on the platform of the Allied Peoples Movement, while Obi is the candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
