Security authorities have rescued a two-year-old boy kidnapped in Bunyia Iruan community, Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The boy was rescued after two suspected kidnappers were apprehended by youths in Ogberia Ochoro community in the Mbube area of Ogoja Local Government Area.
The suspects, identified as 17-year-old Suahnen Lorlumun and Sekeghshie Silas, were taken to the Okubuchi Police Outpost for their safety after residents reportedly attempted to attack them.
The Cross River State Police Command confirmed the incident, saying the suspects were later handed over to the clan head in the company of officials of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
The child was reportedly kidnapped two days before his rescue.
