Former Minister of Power and Oyo State governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Adebayo Adelabu, has said his ambition to govern the state is not a do-or-die affair.

In a statement on Thursday, Adelabu said he had decided not to appeal the APC governorship primary or institute legal action at this time, in the interest of peace and party unity.

He said the decision was not due to a lack of evidence or confidence, but was aimed at avoiding further divisions within the party ahead of the 2027 elections.

Adelabu, however, called on the APC national leadership to address concerns over the transparency of the primary and initiate a credible reconciliation process involving affected aspirants and party members.

He maintained that many party members felt their votes and contributions had been disregarded during the nomination process, stressing that the party must rebuild trust and unity at the grassroots.

Adelabu said his desire to govern Oyo State was driven by a genuine commitment to its development, but added that he would respect the outcome of events and leave the matter to God.
