The Federal Government has urged the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to develop and implement homegrown anti-corruption strategies to improve transparency, accountability and public service delivery.

The call was made on Wednesday at a three-day workshop on the implementation of the Plateau State Integrity and Accountability Strategy, PLASIAS, in Jos, Plateau State.

The Head of the National Anti-Corruption Secretariat, Victoria Ojogbane, who represented the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, said only seven states had commenced implementation of subnational anti-corruption strategies.

She said Plateau was among the seven states and had gone further by preparing an action plan for validation on August 28, 2026.

Ojogbane said the national anti-corruption framework focuses on prevention, public engagement, ethical reorientation, enforcement and sanctions, and recovery of proceeds of corruption.

She stressed that state-level implementation was necessary to translate the national strategy into practical reforms.

The workshop, organised by the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Programme and supported by the European Union, brought together government officials and other stakeholders to strengthen the implementation of the Plateau strategy.
