Barcelona Sign Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund
Spanish champions Barcelona have completed the signing of German forward Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund on a five-year contract.
The Catalan club announced on Thursday that the 24-year-old has signed a deal that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2031. The transfer is reportedly worth €29 million, with additional performance-related bonuses.
Adeyemi becomes Barcelona’s second major signing of the summer transfer window following the arrival of England international Anthony Gordon.
Known for his blistering pace and versatility, Adeyemi is capable of playing as a central striker or on either wing. His arrival strengthens Barcelona’s attacking options following the departure of veteran forward Robert Lewandowski and the end of Marcus Rashford’s loan spell from Manchester United.
Barcelona are also reportedly pursuing Atletico Madrid forward Julián Álvarez as they continue efforts to reinforce their attack ahead of the new season.
Adeyemi made his senior debut for Germany in 2021 under current Barcelona manager Hansi Flick.
The German international joined Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022 and went on to score 36 goals in 146 appearances across all competitions before completing his move to the La Liga giants.
