The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to the National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Bodejo, in the sum of N2 billion over allegations of laundering $2.63 million.

Justice Inyang Ekwo, who delivered the ruling on Monday after hearing Bodejo’s bail application, held that the offences charged are bailable and that the court had the discretion to grant bail.

The court ordered the defendant to provide two sureties in the like sum of N2 billion. One of the sureties must be a resident of Abuja and present evidence of three years’ tax clearance, while the second must own landed property valued at N2 billion within the Federal Capital Territory.

As part of the bail conditions, Bodejo was directed to surrender his international passport to the court registrar and was barred from travelling outside Nigeria without prior approval from the court.

Following the ruling, Justice Ekwo adjourned the case to October 5, 6 and 7, 2026, when trial is expected to commence.
