Bodija Rainstorm: Babaloja General Mourns Dead, Urges Traders to Move to Safer Shops.

The Babaloja General of Oyo State, Asiwaju Yekeen Abass, has expressed sympathy to traders at Bodija Market following a rainstorm that caused extensive damage to parts of the market, claimed one life and left several others injured.

In a statement, Abass extended his condolences to the Chairman of Bodija Market, Alhaji Ismail Jimoh, the family of the deceased, and the affected traders.

He described the incident as a tragic natural disaster and prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul as well as the speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries.

Abass urged traders and artisans to always seek safe shelter during heavy rainfall to reduce the risk of injury and loss of life.

He also advised traders operating along roadsides within Bodija Market to relocate to the newly provided lock-up shops and open stalls, stressing that doing so would improve their safety during adverse weather conditions.

The recent rainstorm caused significant structural damage to parts of the market and resulted in casualties.
