Governor Seyi Makinde has signed Executive Order No. 1 of 2026 to regulate associations, groups and organisations providing security and allied services across Oyo State.

The development was announced in a statement shared on the governor’s official page on Thursday.

According to the statement, the executive order is designed to ensure that all groups involved in security-related activities operate within guidelines approved by the state government.

Makinde said the measure is aimed at strengthening peace, maintaining public order and ensuring compliance with the rule of law across the state.

The governor also addressed the recent kidnapping incident in Oriire Local Government Area, assuring residents that security agencies are intensifying efforts to rescue the abducted children and teachers.

“Security agencies are working round the clock to ensure the safe return of the children and teachers kidnapped in Oriire LGA,” the statement said.
