The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has condemned the conduct of activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, during a recent court proceeding in Abuja.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, NBA President Yakubu Maikyau described Sowore’s behaviour at the Federal Capital Territory High Court as inappropriate and disrespectful to the sanctity of the court.

Maikyau stated that while citizens have the right to express grievances, such actions must be conducted within the bounds of the law and with respect for judicial institutions. He warned that any conduct capable of disrupting court proceedings or undermining the dignity of the judiciary would not be tolerated.

The NBA President also called on legal practitioners and the general public to maintain proper courtroom decorum at all times, emphasizing that respect for the rule of law is essential to sustaining Nigeria’s democracy.
