The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has forecast a combination of sunshine and cloudiness across the country from Monday through Wednesday, with chances of isolated thunderstorms and light rainfall in parts of the southern region.

According to the weather outlook, the northern region is expected to experience mostly sunny and cloudy skies throughout the forecast period. Similar conditions are anticipated across the central region, although hazy conditions and dust particles are likely, particularly from Tuesday into Wednesday.

In the southern region, sunny skies with patches of cloud are expected, alongside isolated thunderstorms and light rains in states such as Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River, especially later in the day on Monday.

On Tuesday, sunny and hazy conditions are forecast for the northern and central regions, while the southern region will experience sunny skies with cloud patches. Thunderstorms accompanied by light rain are expected in parts of Ogun, Lagos, Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River during the morning hours. Later in the day, thunderstorms are likely in Ondo, Ogun, Imo, Delta, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Bayelsa.

By Wednesday, hazy conditions and dust haze are expected to intensify across the northern region, particularly during the afternoon and evening periods. The central region is also likely to experience sunny and hazy conditions.

Meanwhile, the southern region is forecast to have cloudy skies with sunny intervals in the morning, followed by isolated thunderstorms and light rains in parts of Anambra, Imo, Abia, Edo, Bayelsa, Delta, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Rivers.

Residents, especially those with respiratory conditions such as asthma, have been advised to take precautions due to dust particles in the atmosphere. Motorists are also urged to exercise caution when driving during rainfall.

Airline operators have been encouraged to obtain location-specific weather information to aid safe and efficient flight planning, while the general public is advised to stay updated with regular weather reports.
