President Bola Tinubu has offered his condolences to Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi on the death of his father, Sunday Ndidi.

Sunday Ndidi died Tuesday in a car accident in Umunede, near Agbor in Delta State.

In a statement released Wednesday, the president called the death tragic and expressed his deepest sympathy to the soccer player and the entire Ndidi family.

President Tinubu said he was deeply saddened by the loss and emphasized the close bond between Wilfred Ndidi and his father, whom he described as a mentor and role model throughout the soccer player’s career.

He added that the late Sunday Ndidi’s humility and integrity had a positive influence on all who knew him and were a source of inspiration to him.

The president prayed that God would comfort the grieving family and grant eternal rest to the deceased’s soul.

Sunday Ndidi, a retired officer, died following a serious car accident. He was immediately taken to Agbor Hospital, and his death was confirmed by his club, Leicester City, who described it as tragic.
