A court in Ibadan, Oyo State, has issued a preliminary injunction against the Oyo State Government and its representatives. The injunction prohibits them from interfering with a property located on Queen Elizabeth Road in the Agodi Residential Area (GRA) of Ibadan until a pending court case is resolved.

Judge K.A. Adedokun issued the injunction on June 30, 2025, at the request of KAL Asset Management Ltd., against the Oyo State Attorney General and other defendants.

The court prohibited the defendants, their agents, employees, and successors from infringing upon the plaintiff’s rights to the property in question in any way.

The injunction was issued at the plaintiff’s request, which included an affidavit from Akinyele Oladeji.
… According to court records, the property is located on Queen Elizabeth Road in the North Ibadan borough and comprises an area of approximately 6,484.40 square meters, plus an adjacent property of approximately 1,855.95 square meters.

The court issued an injunction prohibiting the defendants from any interference with the property, for which usufruct rights and deeds of assignment are duly recorded in the Oyo State Land Registry, until the hearing and final judgment.

The plaintiff’s attorney, Mr. Oluwatomiwa Fadeyi, filed the lawsuit with the court. The defendants were not present at the hearing.

The case was adjourned until September 22, 2025, to clarify procedural issues. The court ordered further subpoenas to be served on the defendants.

In a public notice dated January 19, 2026, the plaintiffs’ attorneys, the law firm of Adebayo & Gbadamosi, warned that any actions taken by the Oyo State government regarding the property would constitute contempt of court.

The notice, signed by Asiwaju Mutalubi Ojo Adebayo (SAN), clarifies that the property remains the subject of ongoing litigation and that the injunction issued on June 30, 2025, remains in effect.

The attorneys warned that any attempt by the state government or its representatives to disregard the court order would result in appropriate legal action.

The case remains pending before the Oyo State Supreme Court.
