Vice President Kashim Shettima will present Nigeria’s economic outlook for 2026 at the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.

Mr. Shettima arrived in Davos on Sunday to lead the Nigerian delegation to this annual global economic gathering, which brings together heads of state and government, business leaders, and international development partners.

Upon his arrival, he was greeted by Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Jumoke Oduwole, and representatives of the Nigerian Embassy in Switzerland.

During the forum, the Vice President is expected to participate in high-level plenary sessions focusing on the responsible use of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and biotechnology.

He will also hold bilateral meetings with heads of state, business leaders, and representatives of international development finance institutions to strengthen partnerships in line with President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.

The World Economic Forum 2026 will mark a significant milestone for Nigeria’s global economic engagement with the official opening of Nigeria House in Davos.

For the first time, Nigeria will have its own pavilion on the Davos Promenade, which will serve as a platform for ministerial meetings, investment discussions, and cultural exchange throughout the Forum.

Minister of Trade and Investment Jumoke Oduwole stated that Nigeria will use this platform to showcase key investment opportunities in priority sectors.

According to Oduwole, the country will present four investment plans outlining reforms and opportunities in the areas of resource extraction, climate-friendly agriculture, the creative industries, and digitalization. These plans are part of efforts to restructure the Nigerian economy and attract international investors.
