Four Dead in Renewed Attack on Otobi-Akpa Community, Benue State

Armed men, believed to be cattle herders, have once again attacked the community of Otobi-Akpa in the Otukpo district of Benue State, killing at least four residents in a nighttime raid.

The attackers, who appeared to be heavily armed, stormed the community around midnight on Tuesday, opening fire indiscriminately and forcing residents to flee.

Honorary Ochi Ayedu, Eje Uzu, Alinko, and Achibi were killed in the hours-long attack. At the time of this report, several other residents remain missing.

This latest attack comes just months after a similar deadly raid on Otobi-Akpa that left at least 13 people dead, many more injured or missing, and more than 50 homes destroyed.

Residents continue to urge security forces and the government to intensify their efforts to protect communities from further attacks of this kind.
