BREAKING: Ajaero, Sowore, others gather for protest against insecurity

Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress have begun assembling at the Congress’ Secretariat in Abuja ahead of a nationwide protest over the worsening insecurity across the country.

Those already present include the NLC President, Joe Ajaero, alongside representatives of various civil society organisations. Also in attendance are Omoyele Sowore and members of the Revolution Now Movement, who have joined the mobilisation.

Security operatives have been deployed to the area, with personnel drawn from the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Department of State Services to maintain order.

The protest, scheduled to commence on December 17, is part of the NLC’s planned nationwide action to draw attention to the growing security challenges confronting the country and to press for urgent government intervention.
