Comedian and singer Nasboi has written an emotional open letter to Nigerian music legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, urging him to address the recent controversies surrounding his personal life.
In the heartfelt note shared online, Nasboi expressed deep concern over viral videos and news reports involving the veteran artiste, saying he felt personally hurt by the situation due to the admiration he has held for 2Baba since his teenage years.
Nasboi described 2Baba as a major influence in his life, praising his humility, calmness, and character—qualities he said shaped his own conduct as a young entertainer.
“Dear King 2Face Idibia (2 Baba),” he wrote, “I feel genuinely heartbroken seeing some of the embarrassing videos and news about you circulating online. It hurts because you have always been my mentor. I’ve looked up to you since I was 16.”
According to Nasboi, the 2Baba he grew up loving was never one to trade words publicly or engage in online confrontations.
“You were one of the people who taught me what it means to be humble. You never fought publicly, argued online, or created drama. You carried yourself with grace,” he said.
While acknowledging that every family experiences private challenges, Nasboi said the current situation has portrayed 2Baba in an unfamiliar light — one that fans like himself find difficult to accept.
“The version of events being brought online now is damaging and unfamiliar to those of us who truly love and respect you,” he wrote. “Please… for the sake of people like me who have loved you from a young age… take control of this situation.”
He concluded by reaffirming his admiration for the music star: “We still believe in you. We still admire you. We still want to see the 2Baba we grew up respecting.”
The open letter has sparked conversations across social media, with many praising Nasboi for speaking up and others calling for calm while awaiting clarity from the singer’s camp.
