A video that circulated widely on Tuesday has sparked public outrage after a group of secondary school students—still dressed in their uniforms—were seen violently attacking one another on the streets of Ibadan, Oyo State.
The footage, which many online users described as further evidence of declining discipline among youths, reportedly involved students from three public schools. What appeared to be inter-school rivalry escalated into a street brawl, drawing the alarmed attention of residents who watched from a safe distance.
In the clip, students wearing the uniforms of Olubi Memorial Grammar School, Community High School, and Ibadan Grammar School are seen charging toward one another, chasing members of opposing groups, and engaging in physical clashes.
Sharing the video on X, the handle Oyo Affairs wrote:
“Public secondary school students from Olubi Memorial Grammar School, Community High School, and Ibadan Grammar caught on camera fighting. Govt needs to do something fast!!!”
While the cause of the altercation has yet to be confirmed, the incident has reignited public concern over rising youth violence, the breakdown of school discipline, and the increasing appearance of cult-style group clashes among secondary school students in parts of the country.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities have not released an official statement regarding the incident.
