President Bola Tinubu returned to Abuja on Monday after a ten-day working visit to Lagos, where he engaged in a series of high-level meetings, project inaugurations, and national events.

The President arrived in Lagos on Friday, September 26, following his attendance at the coronation of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, in Ibadan.

During his stay, President Tinubu held meetings with prominent investors, including Bayo Ogunlesi, CEO of Global Infrastructure Partners, and Keem Belo-Osagie, Chairman of Metis Capital Partners. He also hosted the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, alongside the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and other industry leaders. At the meeting, Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to developing Nigeria’s maritime sector as a key alternative to fossil fuel-based revenue.

As part of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary, the President also visited Imo State to commission projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma and unveiled a book documenting the decade-long journey of the All Progressives Congress in governance.

In Lagos, Tinubu delivered his Independence Day broadcast from the State House, Dodan Barracks. He also commissioned the renovated National Theatre, now renamed the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, where he urged Nigerians to speak positively about their country.

Before returning to Abuja, the President traveled to Jos, Plateau State, to attend the funeral of Mama Lydia Yilwatda, mother of APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda. There, he expressed condolences and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to fairness and religious harmony across the nation.

Upon his return to the capital, President Tinubu met with the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Bashir Ojulari, who briefed him on the company’s performance, investment outlook, and progress toward national oil production targets.
