Labour Party elects Nenadi Usman as interim national chairperson

The Labour Party National Executive Committee, NEC, has elected Senator Usman Nenadi as the Interim National Chairman and Senator Darlington Nwokocha as the Interim National Secretary, among others, as members of the party’s interim working committee.

The party elected its interim leaders on Friday, during its National Executive Council meeting in Abuja.

This interim working committee will oversee the party’s affairs until the next convention, where a new National Executive Committee will be formally elected.

Other resolutions reached during the meeting include the approval of the schedule for the conduct of ward congresses, local government area congresses, state congresses, Zonal congresses, and the National Convention of the Labour Party.

Additionally, the party’s National Secretariat has been directed to publish detailed guidelines and timelines to ensure that elections at all levels are conducted in a transparent and democratic manner
