The Federal Government, through the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, has mandated all ministries, departments and agencies to submit their nominal rolls and update the details of officers on the popular payment platform, IPPIS.
The government said it is part of the effort to identify existing and consequential vacancies in the civil service.
A nominal roll contains the names of personnel in an organisation. It serves as an official record, which can be used for identification and administrative purposes.
The decision of the government was communicated in a memo dated July 7,2025 and addressed to all ministers, heads of government agencies, parastatals, heads of security agencies, permanent secretaries among others.
The memo signed by the Permanent Secretary, Career Management Office, Fatima Mahmoud, on behalf of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Walson-Jack reads, “In line with ongoing efforts to update the nominal roll of officers under the common pool of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, ministries, departments, and agencies are requested to compile and submit an up-to-date nominal roll of such officers.
