An Ikeja Special Offences Court has dismissed an application filed by the former Governor of the Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele, challenging its jurisdiction to hear the 4.5 billion Dollar and 2.8 billion Naira fraud case brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Delivering the ruling, Justice Rahman Oshodi held that the court has jurisdiction to try Emefiele on the charge, citing relevant authorities.

The Judge, therefore, dismissed Emefiele’s application and held that EFCC had established a territorial jurisdiction on counts eight to 26, with various facts in the proof of evidence attached to the case file.
