FG, WORLD BANK TO SPEND $600M ON RURAL ROADS EXPANSION

The Federal Government, in collaboration with the World Bank, has allocated 600 million Dollars to rehabilitate 200,000 kilometers of rural roads under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project.

The Hon. Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Aliyu Abdullahi disclosed this during a press briefing held in Abuja.

Abdullahi revealed that the Project has begun operations in 19 states, focusing on creating sustainable rural infrastructure and the states are required to establish rural access road authorities and state road funds to ensure road maintenance and sustainability.
