Iran supreme leader,Ayatollah Ali Khamenie has announced five days of public mourning for the late President.
He made this known through an official statement after the death of Ebrahim Raisi who died in an helicopter crash in the in East Azerbaijan province where he inspected dam projects.
Ayatollah noted that the five days of public mourning is to offer his condolence to the people of Iran.
The helicopter carrying the late Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi ,including a total of nine people was involved in an accident after his visit to neighbouring Azerbaijan.
Supreme leader Ayatollah however urged Iranian not to bother about the leadership of the islamic republic, stating that there will be no disruption in the administration of the country.
Meanwhile,Vice President Mohammad Mokhber has being confirmed as the country’s acting President by Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenie.
This confirmation is expected to take immediate effect.
According to officials, new Presidential elections will be held within the next 50 days, as stipulated by the Iranian constitution.
