SANWO-OLU REDUCES WORKING DAYS FOR CIVIL SERVANTS

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on, Thursday, said his administration would reduce public servants working days as part of measures to cushion the cost of living crisis in the country.

The governor who made this known at a media parley also announced other measures to improve the living standard of the people against the backdrop of rising costs occasioned by the removal of petroleum subsidy.

The measures which will take effect immediately starting with the public servants. Mr Sanwo-Olu explained that Civil servants from the lower level will be working three times a week while those on levels 15 to 17 will work four times in a week.

In addition, the governor said that his administration would open 42 more markets where citizens can buy food items at discounted rates to help minimize the rising cost of food in the state.

The governor also stated that there will be 25% reduction on transport services which   will commence this weekend for the State Public Transport system (BRT, Train, Ferry).
