The family of former Governor of Ondo state, late Rotimi Akeredolu, has announced an 11 days burial rites arrangements in a statement signed by the late governor’s son, Oluwarotimi O. Akeredolu Jnr, son, on Monday.
The statement revealed that the funeral arrangements will commence with a crusade at MKO Abiola Democracy Park, Akure, Ondo’s capital on February 15 and will end with a thanksgiving service at St Andrews Church, Imola street, Owo, on February 25.
The statement said the funeral service would take place at St Andrew’s Anglican Church, Owo after which the ex governor would be laid to rest.
According to the statement, the funeral programme will run for over a week, featuring a service of songs, commendation services, special court sessions, a candlelight procession and a world gyration by the Kegites Club, among others.
The family extended their deepest appreciation to all those who have extended their warmth and compassion to them following the unfortunate transition of former Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, (February 2017 – December 2023).
The statement also noted that the family also extended their gratitude to political leaders, royal fathers, religious and community leaders, heads of security agencies, unionists, public officials, student leaders, and women groups, as well as politicians, who have shown love and sympathy during the challenging period.
