President Bola Tinubu has expressed solidarity with the people of Plateau State following recent attacks in parts of the state, assuring residents of the Federal Government’s commitment to tackling insecurity and supporting affected families.
In a statement personally signed by the President, Tinubu extended his sympathy to families who lost loved ones in the attacks and said his visit to Jos was aimed at demonstrating support and reaffirming the government’s resolve to restore peace.
According to the President, his presence in Plateau is meant to comfort grieving families and send a strong message that those behind the violence will not succeed in spreading fear.
“I will be in Jos to support the families who have lost their loved ones and to show that those who try to create fear will not succeed,” he said.
Tinubu also assured residents that the Federal Government would continue to strengthen its security response and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
“We will continue to enhance our security response and ensure that justice is served,” he added.
The President further outlined his upcoming engagements, stating that after his visit to Plateau, he would travel to Lagos for Good Friday observances before proceeding with official engagements in other states.
According to him, his planned visits to Ogun, Lagos, and Bayelsa states will focus on key national priorities, including infrastructure development, trade, and economic growth.
“I will go from Plateau to Lagos to take part in Good Friday activities, and then move on with my planned meetings in Ogun, Lagos, and Bayelsa, which will focus on infrastructure, trade, and economic growth,” the statement read.
Tinubu also stressed the importance of national unity and resilience during difficult moments, urging Nigerians to remain committed to peace and development.
“In times of sorrow, we must stand together. In moments of progress, we must keep building. The work continues. Nigeria First,” he stated.
The President’s remarks come amid heightened concern over insecurity in Plateau State, where authorities have stepped up efforts to restore calm and prevent further violence.
