Eight dead as terrorists bomb bridge in Niger.

Eight persons lost their lives on Monday after suspected terrorists detonated an improvised explosive device along Luma Road in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.

The attackers also reportedly blew up a bridge linking the Luma, Babana and Agwara communities, a major route used by residents and traders heading to the popular Monday market at Babana. The destruction of the bridge caused severe disruption to movement in the area and left many residents stranded.

The attack happened in the early hours of Monday, throwing surrounding communities into panic as multiple explosions were heard across parts of the local government area. Residents were said to have fled their homes for safety following the incident.

In addition to the deadly explosion on Luma Road, explosive devices were allegedly detonated in other locations within the area, worsening fear and confusion among villagers.
