Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State and his deputy, Onyekachukwu Gilbert Ibezim, have been sworn in for a second term in office.

The inauguration ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka.

The oath of office and allegiance was administered to the duo by the Chief Judge of the state, Onochie Anyachebelu.

The event was attended by several prominent dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Soludo, a member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, secured a second term following his victory in the November 8, 2025 off-cycle governorship election in the state.

The swearing-in ceremony marked the commencement of his new term in office, with both the governor and his deputy accompanied by their spouses and family members.

The inauguration activities had earlier begun on Sunday with an interdenominational service held at the International Convention Centre, where prayers were offered for a successful second tenure
