The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), is currently holding a high-level meeting with Nigeria’s service chiefs at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

The meeting is reportedly focused on addressing the escalating insecurity across the country, particularly following recent attacks on military bases in the North-East.

In recent days, terrorists in Borno State killed three Nigerian Army Commanding Officers, all holding the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, highlighting the urgency of the situation.

Key attendees at the meeting include the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke; and Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass.

Representatives from security agencies, including the National Intelligence Agency, are also participating in the deliberations aimed at strengthening national security.
