Defence Minister Directs Service Chiefs to Rejig Operations in North-East, North-West

Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, has directed the country’s service chiefs to visit the North-East and North-West to reassess and strengthen ongoing military operations in the regions.

The directive was issued during a meeting held on Wednesday at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja, where the minister met with top military officials to address the rising security challenges across the country.

According to the minister’s Media Adviser, Timothy Antigha, the service chiefs have been tasked with reviewing current strategies and are expected to submit their findings after visiting the affected areas.

The move comes amid renewed attacks by terrorists in the North-East and North-West, where several military bases have been targeted in recent weeks, resulting in casualties among security personnel.

The minister urged the military leadership to intensify efforts and restructure their operations to tackle the worsening security situation in the regions.
