The Ogun State Government has confirmed that a social media content creator, Mirabel, who recently alleged sexual assault, is safe and currently receiving comprehensive medical care at a state-owned health facility.

The State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, disclosed this after visiting the survivor at the hospital alongside the Permanent Secretary of the ministry and the Medical Director of the facility. She explained that the visit was aimed at assessing the victim’s condition and ensuring that appropriate medical and welfare interventions were being administered without delay.

According to the commissioner, the survivor has been admitted and is undergoing thorough medical evaluation, psychosocial support and necessary clinical procedures in line with established protocols for handling cases of alleged sexual assault. She added that the patient is responding positively to treatment.

Adeleye commended the Nigeria Police Force, particularly the Ogun State Police Command, for their swift and professional response following the transfer of the case to the state. She also praised the prompt intervention of the medical team and the Ogun State Ministry of Justice for ensuring a coordinated approach.

She noted that while detailed examinations and required clinical procedures are ongoing, security agencies have simultaneously commenced investigations into the allegation.

Reaffirming the government’s position, Adeleye stated that the administration of Dapo Abiodun maintains a zero-tolerance stance on sexual and gender-based violence. She emphasized that the welfare, dignity and safety of survivors remain a top priority, while investigations must be evidence-based, transparent and fair to all parties involved. She stressed that anyone found culpable would face the full weight of the law.

The commissioner assured that further updates would be provided as credible findings emerge and urged the public to avoid speculation or sensational commentary that could undermine due process. She reiterated the government’s commitment to uncovering the facts and determining the veracity of the allegation.
