Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation HADIN KAI, have intensified offensive operations against Boko Haram elements in Adamawa and Borno states, leading to the arrest of suspected collaborators, the neutralisation of insurgents and the recovery of weapons and drones allegedly used in attacks on security forces.

In Adamawa State, troops of Sector 4 under the 28 Task Force Brigade apprehended a 28-year-old suspect, identified as Ismail Muhammed, in the Visik General area of Hong Local Government Area. He was described as a logistics supplier to terrorist elements. Items recovered from him included an AK-47 magazine, rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, military accoutrements and assorted food items. He is currently in custody and undergoing further investigation.

In a separate operation in Madagali Local Government Area, troops carried out an ambush along the Visik River line, during which a suspected terrorist commander, Abdullahi Mafa, was neutralised. An AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine were recovered from the scene.

Acting on intelligence, troops also arrested a 64-year-old suspect, Dauda Usman Gubula, alleged to be a collaborator who supplied drones to insurgents. Security sources indicated that the drones were reportedly modified and weaponised locally for use against troops. Recovered items included two aerial drones, related accessories and 20 solar power banks, underscoring the growing use of technology by insurgent groups.

In Borno State, troops operating in collaboration with local vigilantes and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force repelled insurgent activity in Ngamdu. During the operation, a suspected informant attempting to breach defensive positions was neutralised, and several logistics items were recovered.

The operations are part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist supply chains, degrade operational capabilities and enhance security across communities in the North-East. Military authorities commended the troops for their commitment and urged them to maintain the momentum in the fight against insurgency in the region.
